How to Avoid and Treat It Before Winter Comes!
As the weather starts to cool, it’s important to pay attention to our skin care routine and make sure we’re taking the best possible care of our skin. During this transition, we need to be extra vigilant about dehydration—especially if you’re dealing with dry or sensitive skin. Dehydrated skin can lead to a variety of issues such as flakiness, itching, redness, and even wrinkles. With the right knowledge and preventative measures, however, you can keep your skin looking hydrated and radiant all year long.
Symptoms & Signs of Dehydrated Skin
The most common signs of dehydrated skin are tightness, dehydration lines, flakiness, dullness, redness/irritation, and wrinkles that look more prominent than usual. If you notice any of these signs on your face, then it’s likely that your skin is in need of hydration.
Causes of Dehydrated Skin
There are many different causes for dehydrated skin which include environmental factors like cold weather and windy conditions; lifestyle factors such as drinking alcohol or coffee; using harsh products or too much exfoliation; not drinking enough water; or having an underlying medical condition like eczema or psoriasis. The key is to identify what is causing the dehydration so that you can address it accordingly.
How To Avoid & Treat Dehydrated Skin
Correct skin care is vital for a hydrated cell! We need to feed our skin nutrients twice a day with a gentle cleanser - we recommend oil based for dehydration - O Cosmedics Nourishing Cleansing Balm, a Humectant Hyaluronic Acid - O Cosmedics 3D Hyaluronic Serum, and an Essential Fatty Acid rich hydrator - O Cosmedics Comfort Cream, to avoid dehydrated skin in the first place.

Additionally, drink plenty of water throughout the day (at least 8 glasses) so that your body is properly hydrated from within.
Finally consider exfoliating 1-2 times per week but make sure you use a gentle scrub so as not to exacerbate any existing issues with dehydration. Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells which can lead to clogged pores which in turn can cause further dehydration if left untreated!
Dehydration is a common occurrence during colder months but with proper care and maintenance it doesn’t have to be something you have to deal with every winter! By following some simple steps such as cleansing twice daily with lukewarm water; using hydrating products; avoiding harsh chemicals; drinking plenty of water throughout the day; and exfoliating 1-2 times per week - you can ensure that your skin remains hydrated throughout this cold season!
