Beauty Blog #12 - Polyglutamic Acid
Ingredient Of The Week: Polyglutamic Acid.
Also known as PGA, this ingredient is an absolute HYDRATION POWERHOUSE. Now I'm sure most of us have heard of Hyaluronic Acid, very well known for hydrating the skin as it is naturally found in the deeper layers of the system. It holds 1000x its weight in hydration.
But I'm here to introduce PGA, which is a peptide (protein) molecule found in fermented soybeans. It has the power to hold 5000x its weight in hydration (thats 5 times the amount of Hyaluronic Acid). Although similar to Hyaluronic Acid, these ingredients don't need to be in competition, and work amazingly together as a team.
Hyaluronic Acid does an incredible job of moisturising and hydrating the lower levels of the skin system, and PGA has the ability to create a seal over the skin to hold in its high levels of hydration, to continue moisturising the skin over a longer period of time. Can you just imagine the hydration levels you will receive with a product containing both of these ingredients? The perfect recipe.
Well, Organic Spa's Bio Hydra Serum is just that. Scientifically crafted to create high levels of moisture to fight the signs of dehydration and truly hydrate your skin. Paired with drinking a healthy amount of water each day, i try to drink 1.5-2 litres minimum, you can't go wrong.
Dehydration can present in multiple symptoms, including fine lines or "crepe paper" like lines in the skin, inflammation and sensitivity, tight feeling skin, redness and breakouts. The Bio Hydra Serum is available on our website currently.
